Los Angeles Dodgers Autographed Pictures and Team Merchandise		 The Los Angeles Dodgers play in the Western Division of the National League. They play their home games at Dodger Stadium. The Dodgers started playing baseball in 1883 in Brooklyn, NY where they were known first as the Brooklyn Robins and then as the Brooklyn Dodgers. They moved to Los Angeles in 1958 and became the Los Angeles Dodgers.  

The Dodgers have played in the World Series 18 times and they have won 6 World Series Championships. They won their first World Series Championship in 1955 against their long time rivals the New York Yankees. Jackie Robinson was one of the standout players on the team which was known as the Brooklyn Dodgers at this time.

They won their second World Series title in 1959 after they had moved to Los Angeles. This time they defeated the Chicago White Sox. This was one of the most famous Major League Baseball teams of all time because of pitchers Sandy Koufax and Don Drysdale both being on the team at the same time.

Their third World Series title came in 1963 when they beat the New York Yankees in 4 straight games. In 1965 they beat the Minnesota Twins for their fourth World Series victory. In 1981 with Fernando Valenzuela on the mound they defeated the New York Yankees in 6 games to win their fifth World Series title.

In 1988 with pitcher extraordinaire Orel Hershiser on the team they defeated the Oakland Athletics to win their sixth World Series Championship. In the first game of this World Series match up, one of the most memorable moments in sports history would occur. Their were two outs in the bottom of the 9th inning when the Dodgers sent Kirk Gibson up to bat to face off against the Oakland A’s star closer, Dennis Eckersley. Gibson had not been playing because of an earlier injury and this would be the only time that he would play in the series. Gibson was sent in to pinch hit and connected with an Eckersley pitch for a home run. This set the tone for the rest of the series which the Dodgers won in 5 Games.
