In 1965 they changed their name to the Houston Astros when they started playing at the Houston Astrodome. The Houston Astrodome was the first sports stadium that was built with a roof. It was referred to at the time as the eighth wonder of the world. People came from all over just to see it. The Astrodome was also the first stadium to use astro turf on the field.

The Astros have appeared in the World Series 1 time. In 2005 they played the Chicago White Sox in the Series but lost in 4 games.
