The Rockies played their first home game on April 9, 1993 at Mile High Stadium where they beat the Montreal Expos 11-4. There were 80,227 fans at the game that day which is the largest crowd to ever watch a Major League Baseball game.

The Rockies have been playing their home games at Coors Field in Denver since 1995. 

In 2007, after winning the National League Championship, they advanced to the World Series against the Boston Red Sox. The Red Sox were able to win in 4 games.
