Atlanta Braves Autographed Pictures and Team Merchandise 		The Atlanta Braves are a member of the National League and they play in the Eastern division of Major League Baseball. They have been playing in the National League since 1876 and they have been playing in Atlanta since 1966. The Atlanta Braves have won the World Series a total of 3 times and they have appeared in the Series a total of 9 times.  They won their first World Series title in 1914 when they were known as the Boston Braves. Their second Series win came in 1957 when they were known as the Milwaukee Braves.Their most recent World Series win was in 1995 when they defeated the Cleveland Indians. No other team has ever won the World Series in 3 different home town cities.

In 1991 they won a division title and then won their division fourteen times in a row for a division winning streak that lasted until 2005. They were the only team that had ever accomplished such a feat at the time. Ted Turner and Jane Fonda could often be spotted at the games during this time period. The Braves games were televised nationally on Ted Turners’ station TBS. The “Tomahawk Chop” also became popular at the time.

Hank Aaron played for the Braves in Milwaukee and in Atlanta. In 1974 he broke Babe Ruth’s home run record while playing for the Braves in Atlanta. Babe Ruth played for the Braves in 1935 when they were still in Boston and they were known as the Boston Braves. This was Babe Ruth’s last year in Major League Baseball.

Three other notable players that played for the braves were Tom Glavine, Greg Maddux and John Smoltz. All three of these pitchers won Cy Young awards while playing for the Atlanta Braves.
